So, why did his propose speech receive such controversy? Why did a number of conservative politicians and organizations, as well as, many conservative parents question President Obama's motives and accuse him of trying to sell his political agenda to the school children of our nation?
The answer is obvious – the far-right are the ones with the political agenda.
Even former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich recommended it. "President Reagan did it, President H.W. Bush did it . . . If he could give a speech tomorrow night in the tone of his speech today to the students, this country would be much better off ... It's a good speech, I recommend it to everybody if you have any doubts."
