Open Letter

I receive the following email from a good friend of mine this morning:

Dee: here’s an email I recently sent to Lamar Alexander, of course to no avail:

Honorable Senator Alexander,

Please pass a single payer health care bill for the sake of all Americans. Cut out the rapaciously greedy “health” insurance companies forever. They deserve only the dustbin of history. Americans’ health and well being simply can not be placed in the hands of these for-profit charlatans.

No American should be made to pay $2000 per month for health care as does the Tennessee family you referred to in your presentation. This is wholly unethical and unacceptable in such a wealthy country as ours.

ALL AMERICANS SHOULD BE MANDATED TO PAY FOR HEALTH INSURANCE THROUGH THEIR TAXES ONLY, NOT TO A PRIVATE “HEALTH” INSURANCE ENTITY.

Ensure that doctors and nurses continue to be paid well for the invaluable services they deliver. Keep doctors’ group and hospitals in the private sphere if need be, but allow only the federal government to pay for health care.

STOP THE QUIBBLING ON THIS ISSUE AND DELIVER WHAT AMERICANS HAVE WANTED AND NEEDED FOR DECADES: HEALTH CARE FOR ALL – A SINGLE PAYER SYSTEM.

Sincerely,

Jonathan Kasper, Ed.D.
