Joan Baez

On Thursday, July the 29th, I'm going to see and hear Joan at Cheekwood. It has been awhile and I am really looking forward to it.

For those who did not read my post (Who in the . . .) about the 1972 "Ring Around Congress" March in solidarity with the women and children of Vietnam that Joan organized click here.

Isn't she absolutely beautiful. Dee, I was reading a few posts down about the economy. I marvel at how the seemingly reported majority blames our economic woes on the poorest among us. I have always maintained that the resources used by the needy don't hold a candle to what we lose due to white collar crime. I'm "Losing My Religion." It's hard not too. I guess it's easier to blame down on their luck individuals than an entire system.

OMG! ( If I can be so hip as to use this textpression). I think Joan Baez was the first girl I ever fell ridiculously in love with! I was in college, and constantly playing her album that had 'Blue' on it. About a dog that died. She also sang a lot of tunes that seemed to hail from Appalachia, like 'East Virginia'. And, always an activist for peace. My kinda gal! Thanks!! Bless Joan.

PS... I think this was written by Dylan to Joan. And she fed it back to him. Have you read 'Positively Fourth Street'? Mimi, Jpan's sis comes into play. Who knows what went down? For awhile though, Dylan and Baez ruled the countercultural scene. Joan still does. And Dylan doesn't want to be labelled. But, there is no escaping. They were both icons of the time.

Lucky for you to go see her. Take pix!! Also, shoot some of Chihuly's glass on exhibit there! You lucky dog!

Dan, one would think we are the same age and of the same mind . . . Oh yeah, that's right, we are the same age. As for our minds, they're both pretty unique . . . one of a kind.

My plan is to shoot some photos before and after the concert. There are, though, restrictions on taking photos during the concert.

I've been planing for sometime to go see the Chihuly exhibit . . . this way I'll be able to do both.

Hey, you can do this. Turn your flash off and be a spy in the house of love! She would want you to, even if it is prohibited!

And oh! Excuse me, but I just turned 66. So, respect your elders, and STEAL a shot of Joan! You can do this, Dee. I know you are just another one of those spies in the house of love! This message will self-destruct in 10....9....8....7....
